Sandvik Stainless Steel

The Sandvik stainless steel developed for Opinel is renowned for its sharpness and ease of maintenance. Stainless steel capable of undergoing the heat treatment which gives it its good hardness is called martensitic. It has a carbon content of at least 0.40% which makes it possible to obtain a very satisfactory cutting edge without being susceptible to corrosion.

Natural varnished beech

Supply: France Tree present on the three continents of the northern hemisphere. One of the most elegant large trees, with a smooth trunk and dense foliage, the beech prunes very well. White or very pale brown in color, its grain is fine, its structure homogeneous and straight grained. Widely used in furniture, brushwork, toys, parquet floors, etc.

Yatagan of 10 cm

The name Yatagan originally refers to a saber used in Turkey. By creating his closing knife, Joseph Opinel designed a blade with a so-called Yatagan shape (curved at the tip) and a rounded profile which guarantees incomparable cutting quality.

Virobloc double security system
