Originally, the hammock comes from Latin America. It is almost 1000 years since the Mayans invented the first hammock.

Very quickly, the hammock became, in South America and Latin America, the bed of the Indians , where they are safe from poisonous snakes, wild animals but also dirt and humidity. The hammock also served as a fishing net for them.
